“K-C” strongly believes in the healing and therapeutic benefits of alternative approaches to therapy. As an art therapist she strives to adapt to the specific needs of her clients. She works from a person-centered approach, meeting each individual where they are physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. She works alongside each individual and aids them in reaching their therapeutic goals. As an artist and art therapist, she views each client encounter as its’ own collaborative art piece, working together until the piece is complete.
In May 2016 she received her Masters of Science degree in Art Therapy with an emphasis in Counseling from Mount Mary University in Milwaukee Wisconsin. She also earned a Bachelor of Art degree in Art Therapy from Mount Mary University in May 2014. She currently holds licensure as an LPC-IT.
Her areas of specialty include children, adolescents and adults. She works with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, ADHD, mood disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, PTSD, trauma and substance abuse.
She practices from a person-centered approach utilizing art to develop communication skills and positive relationships that promote overall physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. She also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Trauma informed care. Using multiple therapeutic applications, she feels she can better provide her clients with the materials they need to succeed.
She also has experience working in a homeless shelter, women’s transitional home, nursing home, a private practice, and an inpatient behavioral health hospital.
She was born and raised in Athens, Wisconsin. In her free time she enjoys being with family, especially camping and fishing during the summer. She also enjoys making art, crocheting, cooking, and hiking. She is also a big Harry Potter fan!
