Tammy J. Kosbab, BSHM, President & CEO at Strengthening Connections, Inc., is passionate about helping those with Ehlers Danlos syndromes (EDS) and related disorders since watching her mother suffer and then pass away in 2004 without ever knowing the cause of her ailments. Several of her family members have been diagnosed with EDS, Dysautonomia, and Mast Cell Activation. She loves helping others to become the best person that they can be by providing education, support, and resources! Tammy believes that anything is possible!
Education, Work History and Experience
Tammy earned a Bachelors degree Healthcare Management so she could help others with in the healthcare industry. She graduated magna cum laude in 2016, and soon after she was elected to the Board of Directors for Ehlers-Danlos Network CARES.
She has attended 2011 and 2012 EDNF Conferences, as well as Global Learning Conferences in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Ehlers Danlos Society, and EDS Wellness’ Wellapalooza, Integrative Health Conference in 2017.
Tammy created the Facebook group called Ehlers Danlos and Hypermobility Spectrum (EDS & HSD) Wisconsin in 2011 which currently has over 1,800 members. She also founded EDS Wisconsin 2017. She has presented to the EDS community of patients and medical professionals on numerous occasions. She also created and managed Meagans HOPE Memorial Walk for EDS Awareness and Suicide Prevention in 2018 and 2019 which had hundreds of in-person attendees and raised tens of thousands of dollars. She also started six support groups in six regions of Wisconsin, and trained individuals to lead and carry on the support groups.
In addition to volunteering as the President of Strengthening Connections, Inc., she previously helped start a childrens counseling center from the ground up as their Clinic Manager, and she served as the Vice President and the Treasurer of EDS Wellness, a non-profit organization that is focused on wellness within the EDS community. In the past, she had been a successful Entrepreneur and salon owner for over 9 years.
In addition to a being an esteemed and passionate community leader and lifetime learner, Tammy is a family-oriented woman who can often be found traveling, fishing, dining, playing cards, or otherwise socializing with her family, friends, co-workers, or EDS family members.
