Thank you to our Sponsors and Volunteers for making Meagan’s HOPE Memorial Walk & Roll 2019 a success!

Born December 12, 1987, Meagan Rae Braun was a kind, caring, loving individual with the most beautiful, gentle soul. But behind her beautiful smile, Meagan suffered from multisystemic illnesses including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), hyperadrenergic Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), allergies and sensitivities, and more. Frustrated with limited treatment options for her health, in addition to battling postpartum depression, Meagan lost all hope resulting in her death from suicide on April 24th, 2017.

Our future!

This annual Walk is held in honor of Meagan’s gracious spirit to raise money and awareness surrounding EDS and related disorders. Funds are used to develop support and resources for patients and medical professionals.

Tragedies like this are preventable with education, support, and resources! This is why we MUST enhance education, support, and resources for both the medical community and the patient population as soon as possible! One person, like Meagan, is too many!

In 2020, event day check-in and t-shirt pick up will begin on Saturday May 2, 2020 at 11:30 am at Kennedy Park in Weston, Wisconsin.

In its first year, 186 people came to this event from across the country. Meagan’s family hopes to at least double this number and double awareness in 2019. The public and media are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Sponsorship opportunities have all been taken. Thank you!

This year’s speakers include the family of Meagan Braun, Dr. Linda S. Bluestein, M.D. of Wisconsin Integrative Pain Specialists in Weston, Licensed Professional Counselor Trena Loomans of The Caring Tree Children’s Counseling Center, Physical Therapist Myra Burkhardt of Burkhardt Physical Therapy, and others.

We announced the launch of Project #KnowEDS in loving memory of our friend and little sister Lisa Klatkiewicz. Click here to be taken to our webpage to find out more. Rest in Peace Lisa. We love you!

Participants are NOT required to do the walk and we encourage anyone who is able to come to show their support and raise awareness!  There will be bottled water available for free, and snacks available at the bake sale.
